The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a superhero film franchise built on Marvel Comics characters, launched with Iron Man in 2008. Across dozens of interconnected films and series it follows the Avengers — Earth’s mightiest heroes — through the Infinity Saga and beyond, all leading to some of the highest-grossing movies ever made.

What are the Infinity Stones?
The six Infinity Stones are the most powerful objects in the universe, each governing a fundamental aspect of existence: Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time and Soul. Assembled together in the Infinity Gauntlet, they grant the wielder near-omnipotence.
The entire Infinity Saga is, at its heart, a race to control these stones — culminating in Thanos using all six to erase half of all life, and the Avengers’ years-long effort to undo it.
